Care Instructions
Thanks for being a ReRack Customer!
Through the general use and function of your rack, the components will begin to wear out and need repair or replacement. To extend the life of your rack (and avoid injury) we recommend the following:
- Regularly check for tension of adjustable parts
- Occasionally lubricate moving parts - we recommend Tri-Flow, or other plastic safe lubricant
- Always properly tie down your loads
- Use Bow & Stern tie downs for boats and longer loads
- When in doubt, contact us for some extra guidance
Car Washes - WARNING!
- DO NOT take your vehicle into an automatic car wash with racks installed!
- Curious? Check out this video to see what can happen.
- Racks are ok in Brushless or Touch Free car washes. These are washes that only use sprayers.
- It is ideal to either hand wash your vehicle with racks installed, or remove them prior to going through an automatic wash.
Basic Maintenance Tips
We're working on our own, but in the mean time check out these guides from our partners:Seasonal / long term Storage
It is recommended to remove your rack and put it in dry storage for periods where you will not be using your rack. A garage, shed, or basement is ideal. Also note that keeping your rack out of UV light will extend the lifetime of plastic components.
