Featured Special: Yakima HitchSki

Yakima HitchSki is a great choice for those who either already have a hitch rack and don’t want an additional roof rack, or whose car is tall enough that a hitch option is easier to access.

HitchSki carries up to 6 pairs of skis, 4 snowboards, or 3 pairs of skis and 2 snowboards base to base. The loading area is about 14 inches wide, so take this into account when trying to stuff it full of wide powder skis.

Most 4 or 5 bike mast or hanging style hitch racks should be able to carry HitchSki. The bars that it hangs from are 17.25” inches apart center to center, so the cradles on your bike rack will need to be close to this (looking at the cradles closest to the vehicle and the cradles furthest from the vehicle).

Locks and keys are included to keep your skis and boards locked to the rack, and you can utilize the locking options from your bike rack to lock the HitchSki unit to the rack. This FullTilt has a cable that is designed to go over the top tubes of the bikes, so it secures the HitchSki the same way.

One thing to consider is that your gear will be much closer to the road and potentially subject to road debris from your tires. There are some protectors on the market such as the Sloggn Ski Slips to help keep your equipment clean and protected.

Yakima HitchSki has been discontinued, but we have some Return/Open Box units on sale! Now you can get Yakima HitchSki Return for only $179!
